PIXE BOB TAILS

The  Standard:  Articulatedtail is desirable, however, kinks and curls are acceptable.  Minimum of 2 inches in lenght, (approximately thumb lenght).  Maximum to the hock, when hind leg is fully extended.  Bone lenght determines the length of the tail.  When relaxec, tail should be carried low.

Full length Tails. Some Pixiebobs have full lenght tails.  Long tailed pixie-bobs are not show quality.

Natural Short tails.   Bobcat length tails of all lengths, also kinked or curled.  All the cats below have show quality length tails.

No tail. Pixie-bobs without tails are not show quality. Sometimes pixie-bobs without tails are also called a "rumpie," "stumpy," or "rumpie-risier."   Pixie-bobs without tails may look a little like Manx.  Be careful if purchasing a kitten without a tail.  Rarely, but sometimes, these kitten have incontinence problems.  If they do, the problem will show up when the kitten starts to eat solid food, between 6-8 weeks.  When you visit a cattery, check to see if the kitten is clean in the back;  a kitten with incontinence has trouble keeping itself clean because it leaks.

Docked tail. Pixie-bobs with docked tails are not show quality. As a matter of fact TICA now discourages breeders from docking tails at all. I do not dock tails.
